Sorting Sorting Sorting!
How many different ways can we sort objects?
We are learning to sort by colour, shape, size, texture, and other features we find interesting in our various materials. Once we learn to sort, we are then able to create graphs to find out which group has the most and the least amount of objects.
In this picture we students noticed that apples could be sorted by colour. We used a graph to help us see which apple colour had the most.
We also found many different ways to sort our Halloween candy! Some students chose to sort by the colour of each piece, the shape (pumpkin, jelly bean, broom sticks, etc), and others by the feel of them (soft and hard). Can you find a material at home that needs sorting? I'm sure our students would be able to come up with a variety of rules to sort by!

Dinosaur Eggs
We have learned that dinosaurs were reptiles, and are born from eggs.
What will hatch from this egg? We are very excited to use our predicting skills and figure out which dinosaur will hatch from our mystery egg! Will it be a stegosaurus? Or maybe it's a triceratop? Each day a new egg arrives with a baby dinosaur waiting inside to hatch.

Dinosaurs Galore!
Look what we found in our classroom today!!! Our students are very excited to begin our inquiry on dinosaurs!
Some of the things we are begin to wonder are...
Why do some dinosaurs have a long neck?What year did dinosaurs become extinct? How did dinosaurs become extinct?
What are the names of some of the dinosaurs we saw on the table today?
